  • Are your homewares food safe?
Yes. Every single piece is created with the specific goal of being functional, long-lasting art. Each piece is glazed with a commercial lead-free non-toxic food safe glaze (even the vases)!
  • Are they microwave and dishwasher safe?
I recommend limiting microwaving and only handwashing your pieces to avoid causing undue stress on the clay - particularly for pieces where the clay has been joined together, such as mugs around the handles. These are precautions I take with my own pieces to ensure they last as long as possible - hopefully forever!
  • Do you take commissions?
In most cases, yes. If you have seen something you like on the online store but it is out of stock you are welcome to put in an order with me directly via email at info@lightceramics.com. If you have something in mind that is slightly different to anything currently stocked online, send me an email and we can discuss your idea.
  • If I order a set will they be identical?
No! As each piece is handmade from scratch, minor variations between pieces are not only expected but celebrated. While matching sets are intended to be sisters (not twins), you can rest assured that each and every piece will be unique and not replicable.
  • I want to see and feel and touch the pieces in the flesh before I buy them, how can I do that?
I attend several markets throughout the year, check my Instagram (light.ceramics) for updates on upcoming markets and other events.
