ABOUT
The light ceramics studio is located in South Sydney, on the lands of the Gadigal and Bidjigal people of the Eora Nation. The native bushland surrounding the studio provides inspiration for all of the light ceramics collections.
Light ceramics wares are created using a range of pottery techniques including wheel throwing, slip casting, and hand building. Colourful underglazes are used to achieve the vibrant palettes featured in the wares, and patterns inspired by nature are etched into the clay. Each piece from light ceramics is both a functional homeware and a unique piece of art. Wares are coated with a food safe glaze that can be used safely for solids or liquids. Because they are hand made from scratch and hand decorated one at a time, no two pieces are completely alike.
